Relevant Then and Now

On Saturday, 10 October, we invite members, former members, friends of the church, and the wider community to join us in celebrating a remarkable milestone in the history of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Reykjavík: 120 years since the establishment of the congregation and 100 years since the dedication of our church building at Ingólfsstræti.

Under the theme "Relevant Then and Now", we will reflect on God's leading throughout our history and celebrate the continuing role of the church in sharing faith, building community, and serving society. The day will be filled with worship, music, fellowship, gratitude, and hope for the future.

During the morning service, we will celebrate baptisms following the evangelistic series held in Reykjavík, Hafnarfjörður, and Selfoss. In the evening, the Shuv church plant will lead a special program that includes a baptism celebration.

The afternoon celebration will include greetings from civic and church leaders, music, and reflections on the congregation's 120-year journey and the centenary of the church building. Special music will be provided by community choirs that have made their home in the church over the years, reflecting the building's place not only in the life of the congregation but also in the wider community.

• 15:00 Anniversary cake and fellowship at Ingólfsstræti

• 16:00 Anniversary Concert (Afmælistónleikar)

• 18:00 Soup and bread supper

• 19:00 Evening program led by Shuv Church, including a baptism
